Answer:
1:
How do I program the channels into my TV?
A:
Press the menu button on the remote control
or on the television to activate the menu
icons. Press the volume+ or volume- buttons
to select the tuning icon. In the tuning
menu, press channel+ or channel- button
to highlight the Auto Search Mode. All active
channels will be preset and stored in to
the memory automatically. During the process
of Auto Search, pressing the volume- button
will stop the process and the TV will return
to the original channel before Auto Search
started.
2:
How do I access the inputs on my television?
A:
There is a TV/Video or input button on your
remote control. Keep pressing that button
until the desired input is displayed or
highlighted on the screen.
3:
Can I hook up my TV to a stereo receiver?
A:
If your TV has stereo audio output jacks,
use audio phono cables to connect these
to the audio inputs on the receiver. Using
the onscreen audio menu, switch the TV’s
speakers off to listen through your stereo
system and set the TV volume about ¾
of the way up.
4:
Can I hook up my game system to my TV?
A:
Yes, if your TV has Audio/Video input jacks.
Using A/V cables connect the game system
to the TV’s matching A/V input jacks.
Turn TV on, press ‘TV/Video’
button on the remote, and turn the game
system on.
5:
Can you use RCA cables for the component
video connections?
A:
Yes, just make sure the connections from
the component video to the television are
properly matched.
6:
I am connecting my DVD player to my TV using
the component video inputs. How come I am
not getting any audio?
A:
When connecting DVD to set via component
video connections. You will also have to
connect the audio outputs to the television.
7:
What does CATV mean?
A:
Cable Television.
8:
What does MTS MODE mean?
A: MTS
means Mutli-channel Television Sound or
is sometimes referred to as SAP (Separate
Audio Program). The menu selection offers
3 MTS options:
Mono: Monaural (Non-Stereo) Sound.
Stereo: 2
channels of separate audio information.
Secondary:
Offers bilingual broadcasting, news, or
weather reports.
9:
When watching my Advent Stereo Television
on some channels I get the wrong audio for
the station or no sound at all. How can
I resolve this?
A:
Your Television is designed to receive Stereo
broadcasts. It is also capable of receiving
SAP or Second Audio Programs available from
TV stations. Some stations broadcast radio
stations, weather, foreign language or nothing
at all on this frequency. If your TV was
mistakenly set to receive SAP, then you
may be getting the wrong audio or no audio
on some stations. To alleviate this problem
access the MTS STATUS screen of your TV
MENU and make sure you highlight STEREO
instead of SAP.
